I finally found the front end squeak in my 2005 GMC Sierra Crewcab. It was a broken motor mount on the driver side. The upper and lower steel was rubbing because the center rubber part was distroyed. The rubber was as hard as a rock on both mounts from the motor heat. The new GM replacement has a heat shield around the rubber now. No recall eather. I guess GM found out that they had a problem. The dealer and my local machanic said that this has been a comman problem for several years.
Most of the GMC and Chevy trucks use the same mounts.

I hope this helps some of you guys out there. At least it is something to check out.
