I have a 2004 GMC 2500 Crew Cab QS that has 54k miles, when I start it there is a loud clunking noise. I believe it is in the transmission. I put a mechanics stethoscope on the oil pan an it sounded normal but when I put in on the transmissions bell housing it was very loud. At idle it remains as a deep rattle. When driving it gets really loud at about 2700 rpm. Any ideas?
