'03 1500 4x4 4ws. Issues: 1)slight thudding sound that is felt and heard at very low speeds from under the truck, in stop and start traffic for example.

2) Rubbing noise from rear end at low speeds when turning, no apparent contact can be seen but it sounds like tires rubbing against something.

3) Occassional "shudder" when taking off slowly from a stop.

Any ideas from the the experts on this board?

Have your rear end fluid changed....and only use the GM specified lube. That will take care of your problem.

Been there done that.

Spaniel, make them sign in blood that they are using QUADRASTEER SPECIFIED REAR END LUBE!

In another thread here you'll find a couple dozen guys who had big headaches when non-quadrasteer lube was used. You can even find the part numbers on that thread.

My plan is to write the part # on the work order and then talk to the tech before the work starts.

Thanks all. Lube change done on Saturday and the issue seems to be fixed...knock on wood (the rubbing noise was gone after the diff service, but returned briefly just once, now gone again).
