I own an 03 Sierra 1500HD 6.0L. Can anyone fill me in on the difference and maybe clue me into what I have? |

Welcome aboard Tiburon.
Easiest way is to refer to your VIN number and RPO code in the glove box. On your VIN, the eighth digit is going to be either an "U" or "N". "U"= LQ4, "N"= LQ9. The LQ9 first came out in the '04 Escalades. Differences between the two is in the heads(compression ratio), which is, I think 9.40:1(LQ4) and 10.08:1(LQ9). Something like that, someone correct me if I'm wrong with the number of the LQ9, but it's close enough for your info needed. You more than likely have a "U". 2003 Pewter GMC Sierra Denali, 6.0L, WESTERS 93 HOT Tune, 4L60E-HD mod.,PML extra capacity tran. pan, 4.10/9.75R, Outlaw CAI, Corsa Touring/4.0 Pro tips, Magnacor wires, AC Delco irridiums, Dynatech header/powercats, LineX, cryo-powerslots, Hawk HPS, Stop-tech/Goodridge SS brake hoses, TYC carbon fiber tails, Black DDU grill, Autowoods Steering wheel, A/C filter retro-fit...for now |
