I have a 05 GMC 1500HD QS w/34,000 miles on it. I recently noticed a noise coming from the rear end of the truck (only when the wheel is turned). I took it to a local dealer and they told me to change the rear end oil and see what happens. I did as I was told and the noise is still there. Does anybody know what could be causing this noise or have had the same problem?
Please feel free to call me at any time.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Did you use the Quadrasteer oil in the rear? If not then you need to get the appropriate amount and drain the rear end again and put in the Quadrasteer oil. There are a few threads on here that discuss the clunking noise in the rear. Most of it is attributed to the oil needing to be changed or the wrong oil being put into the rear end.

Have a nice day.
