I've got a bose system in my QS, wondering if anyone out there knows if I can replace the stock bose speakers with aftermarkets? I've got a couple pairs of infinity kappa series component separates hanging around...

Gunny, they should swap out just like any speaker. Even if they have external crossovers, you'd pull them to add your new speakers.

No matter how complicated, there's still only going to be two wires going to each speaker.

As far as mounting, if they're the same size, should drop in. If not, there are adapter rings or you could make your own.

Should be a fairly easy swap thumbs up 2

I'll let you know when I get to mine !! Infinity components in all four doors, probably one of Mike's subs drool

Gawd, that thing is sweet drool

To get the best performance, do we have to select speakers/drivers with any particular attributes or perameters? For example: a THX-approved speaker system has to have components that possess performance values that fall within a minimum range.

I think for most ears, just good quality speakers is enough Razzer !!!!!

BTW, I'm pretty much deaf in my right ear... non-stop ringing cry

So I just have to turn it up louder !!!!

But back to your question, Mike might know, or you could check out a stereo forum.... I know of a good one if you're interested...

I've got ringing in both ears..too many 120mm tank rounds...the speakers I have are true separates, with external crossovers...I'll give em a shot...the stock Bose do sound great though...

I've replaced all of the factory speakers! For the most part it was easy, but to avoid complication I replaced all the original wire to. I would highly recommemd doing this so you don't have problems down the road!
I put focal mids and tweaters powered by a 600W alpine amp. I also installed a 10' JL Audio W7 powered by a 600W rockford fosgate.
Good luck!
