Any recommendations on the better LED taillight assemblies? Don't seem to be many vendor providing lenses specifically for 04 QS trucks. Thanks.

My right tail light went out on Monday. My wife was nice enough to call me and let me know. Who does the walk around inspection every day anymore
I was just looking at getting replacement LED bulbs (not the whole tail light assembly) and found this site http://autolumination.com/3157_3156.htm It's a heck of a lot cheaper to replace the bulbs than to replace the whole tail light lens assembly. Has anyone ordered from these folks? Which bulbs did you get? They offer quite a few bulb options. I went that route with the DRLs(daytime running lights) and wasn't happy. They were fine for a while, but seems each of the led bulbs have different life cycles, some burned out early while others flickered. Very irritating. That and the reliance/quality of the circuit board. You might have a better experience with the leds. I decided to go back to the bulb and purchased the stealth bulbs, which are nice and bright.
I didn't get the leds at your link Sean, but have heard their a reputable company. I got mine at this place; http://www.automotiveled.com/ 2003 Pewter GMC Sierra Denali, 6.0L, WESTERS 93 HOT Tune, 4L60E-HD mod.,PML extra capacity tran. pan, 4.10/9.75R, Outlaw CAI, Corsa Touring/4.0 Pro tips, Magnacor wires, AC Delco irridiums, Dynatech header/powercats, LineX, cryo-powerslots, Hawk HPS, Stop-tech/Goodridge SS brake hoses, TYC carbon fiber tails, Black DDU grill, Autowoods Steering wheel, A/C filter retro-fit...for now |

Hey Quadrant,
Thanks for the reply. That would be annoying. One would think that an LED would have a much much much longer life compared to a filament based bulb. I'm broke right now with classes and Xmas, so It'll be a while before I do anything to the truck. Have fun! I considered these for a while... but after doing a lot of reading about them, I've changed my mind.
Another weird thing that some of the LED replacement bulbs reportedly do is alter the rate of the turnsignal flasher. It would be nice to find some LED taillights that were as good as the OEM LED taillights on the Deville sedans. Bold, clear, visible, reliable. But I don't think such an animal can be easily found in the aftermarket yet. There is too much market saturation with the cheap stuff designed to be sold to inexperienced buyers only after the bling for today, not the reliability for tommorrow. So, I'm sticking with stock lamps, which have yet to fail. ___________________ |

OK, sounds like the LED route isn't the way to go at the moment. Has anyone found better (brighter) turn, brake and marker bulbs? Seems like the turn signals, particularly on the rear don't really jump out at the person behind you. Thanks.
