I've heard of this... I know the dealer can fix it with a flash, but I think there's a way for the owner to do it...

I've also heard of guys *dimming* the hi-beam indicator cuz it was blinding at night.

Lemme look around Wink

Alright, try this. Key on, radio off, press and hold #6 button on radio.

Let us know if it works.

Mine aren't so loud... but I am half deaf !!!!!

Here's another suggestion. Check your balance and fader settings for the radio. As near as I can figure out from the shop manual, the chime sound is played through the left front speaker.

Hey thanx for the responses. Tried the #6 button and it just got louder. Mad Dont want to adjust my balance to offset the chime... I enjoy my music balanced. Isnt there a wire to disconnect or a procedure that could be performed to just cut it out all together? Lo.

Easy,

Under the driver's seat, the black with the white stripe does the seat belt chime. I pulled out the wire with my terminal remover set and taped it back. Now it will only chime for open door, low fuel, etc.

'Max, I ain't forgot about ya !!!! Lemme look, but I think the hi-beam fix was dealer-only, or maybe a Tech2 fix ?? I'll find it.

Well, the high beam fix is a dealer deal, it seems. Some guys are just covering it or pulling the dash face and putting some tinted plastic in there to dim.
