Can it be done? Anyone converted the 2002 Sierra Denali (non-bose) to a 2003-2005 GM Navigation head unit?

If you are willing to discard the old head unit and amp, you can get either a regular Bose Premium Touchscreen Navigation Radio (TNR) or older style push-button navigation radio. You can save a few coins if you don't want the Luxury Bose set-up and just go with the standard Premium Bose arrangement.
You can get the stuff you need either on e-bay or through JP Customs. JP Customs TNR Here is a link to the DIY install instructions. TNR Install from some blokes at the Diesel Pages. I'm getting ready to do mine with the Bose Luxury Amp, an Escalade TNR head unit, a rear-view camera, I-Pod interface, DVD player and 6-disk CD player. It will look factory (maybe because it is factory GM, it's a Delphi product...like our Quadrasteer gear) and sound much better than anything that may have come from the factory on a Quadrasteer truck...unless you drive a Quadrasteer Denali. Interesting.... can you maintain the factory XM too, or do you need a new one?
What about the iPod interface, are you planning on a JPCustoms unit? Thanks for the info. John |

You keep all of your current XM hardware, the head units are already XM capable. Just plug in the existing antenna.
You have a few choices with the iPod interface. Just pick up an AUX module and the menu will display on the NAV screen. JPCustoms has it all in a one-stop-shop, but they are pricey, Can save a few hundred buy tracking down alternate sources for the LUX Amp. You just have concerns about it's programming. I want a no worries situation that comes with new product and a factory/supplier warrantee. I have issues with the parts being stolen and sold on e-Bay and I won't support the practice. But that's me. -Peter 2005 GMC Yukon XL 2500 SLT Quadrasteer 4x4, 1SD Package, 3.73s, U59 Silver Birch Metallic 6.6L LBZ Duramax Conversion Allison 1000 6-speed tranny with SunCoast/McRat 1057 Converter and Transgo Jr. upgrade Mike L.
