OK, so I know that I can add the GM nav unit to my '05 Sierra, but has anyone added any typ of screens to theirs yet? I want to add a back up camera immediately (before my wife or I take out the rear bumper).

I would liek to do something simple at first, then be able to integrate the cam into an in dash unit like the Pioneer Avic-N2 or something.

I have also considered using a visor mounted monitor. Any suggestions or pics would help. Thanks,

Jeff

Yeah, that'd be nice.... I bumped a light pole backing up last night blush

Luckily, I was just about to stop, maybe like 1/5mph, so it didn't even flatten the grain on the black plastic Razzer !!!

Good thing.... Mrs.Q would kick my butt skull krusher !!!!!!

One of the first things I added to my truck. $300 got me the camera and a Farenheit 6" screen mounted on my visor. Makes me feel so much more comfortable when backing up. I am thinking of upgrading the camera later, but it works great for right now.

I work for a real estate development company and there are plenty of big truck owners at my company. They all wish they had the same thing because backing up is such a pain in a big truck. I got mine because I have a two year old and I am more aware of kids running around then I ever was before.

All of my co-workers are more envious of my turn radius and ability to pull into our parking lot more than anything else though!! Love my quadrasteer!!

I just put few hundred miles on my Nav equipped Q-Steer yesterday... oh man, let me tell you, if you haven't had a taste of this telemetry, DON'T TRY IT.

Why not? Because you will NEVER want to go back to a vehicle that doesn't have built in Navigation with speed sensor inputs, bird's eye 3D view, split screen, a pleasant lady who talks you through it all...

Of course, if you're just commuting and going to the same old haunts everyday... from school to work to soccer to church... then no neccessita.

But if everyday is different, a built in Nav system that doesn't have to be put away and taken out and plugged in every time you enter the vehicle, is really a very handy feature.

I tried a lot of Nav systems in a lot of vehicles, as that was as important to me as capacity and manuverability... and GM's touch screen system is easily in the top three.

Especially GM's touch screen Navigation combined with Onstar Directions & Connections. These may seem redundant, but wow. WOW. WOW.

ladiver,

The same website I mentioned to you over the phone the other day has the slickest camera set for the GM trucks I've seen. The rear view camera mounts in a billet aluminum housing and fits neatly in the U shaped stiffener between the bumper and the receiver hitch.

Add a wire harness connector (ridiculously expensive) and the output of this connector can be integrated with GM's touch screen Navigation.

I am waiting to find more feedback from people who have this system before trying it, because I hesitate to introduce any non-factory wiring element in the truck... due to the multiplexing of signals between the onboard computers, and due to the fact that with electric four wheel steering, our lives depend on the integrity of these electronic signals.
