wondering if any onyone knows of a 4"lift for quadrasteer trucks? All i can find is 6" pro comp. Also wondering if a regular lift will work on a quadrasteer?

The only company, that I could find, that would endorse their lift with the quadrasteer was Pro-Comp. I spoke with the tech's at a lift manufacturer that offers a 4" kit (I think it was Rough Country), and they had installed their kit on a quadrasteer, but for liability purposes, they did not want to endorse it. He recommended using a flat rear lift block to keep the rear steering aligned correctly. I also seem to remember that it was the same lift as the 6", but they used smaller rear blocks, and to lower the front, they backed off on the torsion bar adjustment.
I had a tough time finding anyone that would install a lift on my quadrasteer, since at that time, no one would endorse their lift with a quadrasteer. I installed the pro-comp myself, and it works perfectly. If you only want to fit 33's, you can do that with a torsion key adjustment, or a levelling kit. You may need to trim your bumper a little bit, but most people have to do that anyway when they install a lift kit that uses replacement knuckles. I had the Cognito 'A' arms and maxxed out my torsion adjustment screw before I installed the lift, and actually fit hummer wheels and tires on my truck, which are 35's. They rubbed very slightly, but it was liveable. The only reason that I put the lift on was because I wanted to hang a heavy winch bumper on the front, and I also wanted the higher look. If you do go this route, I would recommend 285/75's, which are 33 inches tall, but they are narrower than 12.50x33's. I would also recommend a wheel with 5 inches of backspace and 8 or 8.5 inches wide. The reason for this, is that with the quadrasteer, the rear axle is wide, and with the wide tires, if you use wheels with less offset, such as 4.5", the truck looks like a bulldog. Very short and squatty. I hope this helped. Gary |
