Chris, buddy, I am so sorry I missed your post here Red Face !! If you look at your post time on this versus my reply on the alignment, they're 2 minutes apart !! I never knew it was here cuz I never got a new message flag !!! It thinks I saw it cuz I was already there !!! Sorry !!! I'll pay closer attention from now on Big Grin !!

Anyway... Tires. What type are you looking for ?? If you like an all-terrain tire, I can say with complete confidence, get the Bridgestone Revo's. These are different than their regular Duelers, you have to specify Revos.

They've got a cool looking semi-directional pattern, have great ride characteristics compared to my factory Bridgestones, they have great wet-weather traction, I've heard from guys up North that they kick butt in the snow. They seem to be wearing pretty good. I love 'em- great tires and well worth the price. I know Danthaman also has them and likes his, too.

I went from factory 245/75-16's to 265/75-16's, both E-load rated. They're about 2" taller. I turned my t-bars up a few cranks and now I've had people ask me if it's 4-wheel drive.

Nope, 4-wheel steer Big Grin !!

Here's a link for the Bridgestone Revos at TireRack.

Yes, I also have a set of Revos. I'd been looking at buying these for at least a year before I bought my Quad.... I was driving a '94 GMC RCSB... never got around to buying the Revos 'cause I bought the Quad before the Pirelli Scorpion A/Ts on my '94 wore out (the Socrpions are also good tires, but not nearly as good as the Revos IMHO). The Revos are great. An excellent match with a Quadrasteer... mine handles like a sports car... more traction than I know what to do with.

But hey... yours came with goodyears?!?! no fair! Mine came with General Ameritracs Frowner I didn't have 'em for long though.

Hope this helps. Any of you other Quadders with non-Revos, post your opinions too! I wanna hear how well BFG, Pirelli, Goodyear, Yokohama, and other all-terrain tires work on the Quads. Anyone out there running a 4X4 Quad on Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs?

I looked at the Yokos too, but the Revo reviews sold me. I'm glad.

I'm now looking into 18" rubber for my swap in the future. So far, I'm only finding Nittos in the pattern(all-terrain or mud-terrain) and size I want. I hope Bridgestone makes a Revos in an 18" size soon !!!

Oh- and you think the Generals were bad ?!!? I got Bridgestone VSteels or something like that. Looks like an 18-wheelers highway-rib tread Eeker ... They sucked. Rough ride, incredibly bad wet weather manners, not much better dry handling... Got rid of them at 6k miles... Sold them to a bud for $75 each Big Grin !!!

I got an email from someone running the Yokohoma Geolanders A/Ts on his 4x4 Quad. He said he was very happy with them, good in snow and offroad. He's run BFGs and Goodyears and Kelleys previously and said the Yoko's are much better. He's still not sure on the tread life, so I'll check with him in a few months.

He choose them over the Revos.

I am running 265/75-16 Michelin LTX-AT's on stock wheels. While not a full blown mud tire, I have pulled a 2WD GMC Sierra out of a muddy hayfield that I sunk into 4-5 inches in boots. I was in 2WD at the time.

They have worn very well, brake and corner very well in wet and dry conditons. I would buy them again and recommend them. Not the cheapest, but I feel very safe with them.

Mr. QS- are you running the 265's on the stock rim's?

I'd like to gain some tire size without buying new rims, at least for now....

Thanks....

I think you are right about the 285's. The same day I asked the 265 question, i happened to park next to an '02 EC non-QS with 285 revos on stock wheels.

I bet you have to turn the bars though, there is not a lot of space between my stock 245s and the front of the fender well...

I need to decide what I am doing before i order that Wester's....

Anyone running 285's on stock 16"'s?

John

I actually rode on my 265's unlifted for a week or two and had no rubbing, AND one of my t-bar bolts was COMPLETELY backed out. As in, NOT touching the key pissed .

Quality control Roll Eyes ...

But, yeah, they look sooooo much better with a little lift to the front thumbs up 2

There is a $75.00 mail in rebate right now for the Revo's...Smiler

Bridgestone Page

so, my truck being a 4WD, I could fit 285's? I also saw a wannabe X-cab non-QS with 285 LTX MS michelins and they looked great!!
