Damn!!!! buds

I like some of the other pics, but these are amazing.

I guess there is nothing wrong with total submersion. Time to think about a snorkel kit for mine beats me

KL, in the top left pic, did they get stuck? Looks like some nasty mud.

I wanna do that.

Music swells.... "Like a Rock !"

cheers

But putting all the submarine back slapping aside for a moment, here's what I found underneath my Quadrasteer:

And here is the second of four seperate electronic modules aft of my spare tire...

(note that the first and second picture is oriented such that the front of the vehicle is on the left, where the tread of the spare tire is shown)

Here is a repeat view of the first module (with the aluminum heat sink), this time taken while laying underneath the second module (where you see wire harnesses coming toward you).

This time, the front of the vehicle is toward the right hand side of the image.

The next two electronic modules aft of axle are on mounted inside the curbside rear quarterpanel, about even height wise with the aft axle fuel tank, slightly higher than the first two modules that were directly behind the receiver hitch, but still lower than the top of the frame...

And this picture is slightly out of focus, but I didn't have a flash and used a very slow shutter speed...

I sat stiller for this last photo, for the fourth and final electronic module, so that you could also see the third module in the lower right hand corner a little more clearly.

Once again, the front of the vehicle is toward the left hand side of the frame.

Pictures are powerfully persuasive, and there is no question that if KL's pics posted here were put on the front cover of the Chevy truck brochure... saying Quadrasteer... a swamp stomping rEvolution... that the Quadrasteering team would have been hiring MORE people to figure out ways to keep up with production demand, instead of disbanding with Quadrasteer's sales demise.

On the other hand, I have to ask... are the electronic modules pictured above, found underneath a Suburban Quadrasteer, also present underneath the pick up trucks knee deep in mud?

Would complete submersion in water wreck havoc with the multiplexed control circuits in these modules? While there is sealing gaskets in the connectors, are these gaskets designed for that kind of submersion?

Yes, the truck had to be pulled out in the top left picture. We deliberately drove in that hole and stopped. We took extra steps to insure that this system would be able to live in the environment it would be exposed to. Some of our connectors are plastic injected, which allows some components to be completely sealed from the environment, which includes the electronic control modules underneath the vehicle.

No regular cab mule vehicles. We did fracture a tie rod ball stud, but it wasn't a production tie rod.

I know this is reviving the thread from the dead. My quadrasteer unit was sealed. I put my jetskis in the water several times with no problems. However, the last time i did it, one of the screws had backed out on the steering position sensor (don't ask how, cuz i don't know) and filled it up with water requiring a new sensor and its still not coming on. just my input.
