I have a 2003 1500HD that is making the noises described on this forum. I am planning on changing the oil. I have three quarts of GM QS fluid on my shelf is that enough, or do I need more?

Thanks
Matt

Three is enough. It should take almost three. This depends on the rear end size. Fill it till it runs out of the side of the case. Then jack the driver side up just enough to let some out and drop the level 1/8 to 1/4" below the hole. I use a wire bent 90 deg. to check the amount. Insert it in to the hole and rest it on the bottom of the hole. Remove it and you should see oil 1/4" below the hole.

Good Luck
Brad
