This is a free mod, takes maybe 10 minutes once you have all the items together. It won't make any noticeable gains in anything; what it will do is help keep your t/body a little cooler by NOT running 200* coolant thru it.

The t/body coolant is added to help keep emissions low and to aid warm-up in colder climates. By bypassing it, we fool the computer into thinking it's a little cooler outside, so in theory, the computer should richen the fuel mix.

For folks that will experience extended cold temps, say below 40*f, I think I'd do this as a seasonal thing, rehooking it in winter. Once you've done it initially, it shouldn't take but two minutes to swap it back and forth. I doubt anything detrimental would happen by not doing this, but when it's -20* in NewYork, I think a little heat in the engine would be a good thing Big Grin !!!

You will need two 1/4" hose clamps and a 1/4" hose splice or piece of tubing.

Remove the top engine cover. It is MUCH easier to do if you also remove the intake tube, but I guess you could work around it eek II ...

You can see where the small coolant line enters and exits the base of the t/body here:

You are simply pulling both lines off and splicing them together. Put a rag under everything before you start to catch the couple ounces of coolant that will leak out.

You can cap the tube or not, nothing bad will happen if you don't. It's just a tube.

And that's it.

And, again, thanks to danthaman and his lovely truck Razzer Big Grin !!!!!
