I just got home with my '05 Yuk xl Quadrasteer. The 4ws is astonishing. Now I'm looking to spiff it up a bit. I've already bought a pair of GMC2500HD door badges. I plan to replace the YUKON XL's on the door. Does anyone have a good way to remove the old badges?
I've been reading about the high performance intakes. Do they really work, and are they worth the money? Which one do I buy? |

Run a fishing line under the badge to cut the tape. Then remove the glue, w/glue remover.
Cold air intakes are good for about 18 hp. All are about the same, $250. I prefer the closed box type like Volant. They keep more engine heat out of the intake. Also replace the Mass air flow sensor, to reduce restriction, $350. |

Welcome, Brian.
For your badges (we don't need no stinkin' badges !!!!), try some gentle heat with the wife's hair dryer (NOT a heat gun) and gentle, steady pulling. They'll come off eventually. On intakes, I used to love my Volant. That is... until I got my aFe If you look around, my aFe made like 14rwhp MORE than the Volant And it sounds better, too (and I can get ya a good price on the aFe ______________________________________________________________________ MrQuadrasteer QuadrasteerClub.com 2003 Chevy 1500HD CrewCab 2wd Quadrasteer 6.0l, 4L80E, 3.73 Wester's 91/93 tune, aFe cai, 186* stat, t/body bypass, E-Load Revos 302rwhp |

Eric,
Don't rule out the Volant yet. The test you ran used a older version of the Volant system. The newer one is supposed to be better. I'm researching it right now, and more have recommended the Volant than any other. aFe is a great intake, but I wouldn't ignore the Volant. -Peter 2005 GMC Yukon XL 2500 SLT Quadrasteer 4x4, 1SD Package, 3.73s, U59 Silver Birch Metallic 6.6L LBZ Duramax Conversion Allison 1000 6-speed tranny with SunCoast/McRat 1057 Converter and Transgo Jr. upgrade Mike L. Hey Prophet,
I see you have a 80 mm throttle body. How do you like it? I am going with the Vette 90 mm throttle body. I will post when I get it done. Mark Mark 2004 Sierra Denali ----- 2/4 drop LSX 438 TWIN TURBO 1000 HP & 1000 ft lbs Torque or break trying |

Has anyone tested the Vararam intake? The numbers/performance claims on their website are impressive.
