I have the 89/93 tune and was wondering if I should be noticing a difference between running 89 and running 93. So far I haven't been. I'm unclear on this, but I think it re calibrates with a 5 gallon + fillup?? If that's the case, do I have to run two tanks of 93 through it, since it will recalibrate with the 89 that's left in the fuel lines?
Just took a 3500 mile drive in it right after the tune, and it seemed to be a little quicker, but the mileage was still terrible. Unfortunate, since that's the only reason I bought the tune. Oh well. If anyone's interested, I have the MPG numbers from the whole trip...

MrQ will be the authority here because he's the Westers rep, but I thought I would pipe in with my two cents.

I've been told that running the higher of your two possible octanes is supposed to increase Mileage with a westers(dual tune). I too have the 89/93 and still am collecting data to see if this is the case for me. I do know that my truck is spunkier with the 93.

Yes, the tune recalibrates for the octane you filled up with at the 5 gallon mark. I really don't think it takes that long to burn the fuel out of the lines, so two tanks of 93 to retune from 89 seems a bit high.

I think we'd all be interested in seeing the MPG numbers! Postem up!

Here are the results from the trip. The numbers that are under 14 mpg include some city driving. Anything over 14 was strictly hwy:

5. 14.77 89 + octane boost

8. 13.31 89
9. 15.3 93
10. 14.45 93
11. 13.10 89

This was driving from Dallas to far Northern Michigan, so it was pretty flat. All in all, it looks like I may have gained somewhere between 0-.5 mpg with the tune at best. I haven't figured it out yet, but I am guessing my operating cost has gone up. Maybe I should try the straight 93 tune, but then I'm afraid its going to get REALLY expensive!

Tom, sorry I didn't get around to this- spent the weekend in the driveway with Dan, lifting his Quad. We pretty much finished this morning... at about 4AM !!! I didn't get to bed till 5:30 !!!!! We worked Friday night till around 1am....
