i see ads here for turbos and superchargers. which is better and what are the benefits going one way or the other?

It is going to be a personal prefrence. For a daily driven truck I would say go supercharger. I have heard many good things about the Magnusun (maggie) and Whipple. Far less tuning required on a supercharger then a turbo setup also (assuming you don't go out of control with heads and cam swaps).

having said what you said, what other mods are to be done when putting a supercharger in? do they come with their own computer to dial in the difference in the intake? just trying to see what kind of trouble i can get myself into or keep from making some big mistake.

I would contact Tbryne for more details. if you add a super charger or a turbo then add a camshaft that is matched for a turbo/superchager setup you'll increase your horsepower and torque alot. If you're that far then you could add cylinder heads, Long tube headers.
