I purchased a Westers tune last year, and have tried several re-tunes since without much difference. As I've had zero MPG increase, and not a whole lot of performance difference, I'm considering going to the hot tune now, since I'm running 93 anyway with my 89/93. I know Mr. Quadrasteer had huge results going to the Hot tune, anyone else?

Good topic Laff, I've been thinking about the same thing. There seem to be more gas stations offering 87 and 93 than those that offer 87/89/93 around my area. Since I'm not using the low end of my 89/93 tune, I might as well go for the hot tune.
Also, my mileage only increased .5 - .7 mpg--nothing close to what I was promised. I'm wondering if anyone else has had better luck with different manufacturers besides Westers? Especially since I was promised a 10 % rebate and never recieved one. ******* I finally recieved my rebate, so all's cool. Now if I can just keep my foot from mashing the accelerator, maybe my MPG will increase! ******* Thanks for the post and let us know how you proceed. This message has been edited. I hope I didn't come across as disgruntled, as the guys I've dealt with have been very helpful, I just didn't get the results many others seem to have gotten.
My concern with the hot tune was the fact that I occasionally tow a boat thats about 5000-6000 lbs. I only tow it from the storage area to the ramp, which is only about 500 yards. I just don't know what the dangers of the hot tune would be, especially pulling it up the ramp?? 2003 GMC 1500HD Crew SLT 4X4 6.0L Westers 89/93 tune |

I opted for the 91 hot tune since we can't get 93 gas out here in California. I talked to Lyndon and expressed my concerns about towing my boat (about 5000 lbs), and he said that he'd just "slightly back it off a notch" since I had concerns about pinging while towing up hills.
Believe me, the truck is no hot rod, but at least if feels like it'll at least get out of its own way now. That's something it wouldn't do with the factory tune. Good luck on your quest. Remember there's always supercharging or just get an engine that has all the go-fast parts in it.
