As y'all know, Wester's Garage is one of our primary sponsors. They offer the near-world-famous Wester's tunes, the tunes that go beyond the ability of words to transcribe the experience (whew- Big Grin) !!!!! Ask ANYONE that has one- THEY ARE ALL THAT AND THEN SOME !!!

You get huge increases in power AND increases in economy !! How much of each is up to you- each tune is completely CUSTOM calibrated to the individual's specs. No two are the same, unless the order forms are the same !!! (and that even means the same altitude !!!). There is no better bang-for-the-buck performance item you can purchase for your truck !!!

You absolutely can not beat a Wester's custom tune !!!!! There's a review (which now needs to be updated with my new 91/93 banzai tune !!) on the QSClub home page.

Wester's now also offers back-flush, ultra-sonically cleaned and flow matched injectors. They're a bargain and super-easy to swap. You'll get a smoother running engine that'll be easier on parts, adding long term reliability, plus gains in power and economy. Another Wester's unbeatable bang-for-the-buck product !!!

And with all Wester's services, there is THE unconditional LIFETIME warranty. Wester's Garage, Lyndon and Eileen, offer EXEMPLARY customer service. They will do what it takes to make it right. GUARANTEED !!!

Also know that I recently became an authorized Wester's rep Big Grin !! So if you have any questions on the products or services, pricing, or are ready to place an order, just drop me a line (click on my name below !!- coming soon !!) and I'll be happy to give you all the info you want and expedite your order Wink !!

I'll go into detail on the tunes and injectors in separate posts...

Eric B.

Hi Mr. Quadrasteer,
I am hoping you will give me some advice on increasing the power output of my 6.0 litre V8. I have an '05 Silverado 4x4 crew cab Quadrasteer with a 4.10 rear end. I bought a hypertech III power programmer, but use it only to change the tire height and transmission shift stiffness. A few months ago I replaced the stock 16 inch wheels with chrome 17 inchers and increased the tire size to 265x70. I estimate that this added about 1.6 inches to the height. Everyone on your site loves the Wester tune. Which tune would you suggest? I am also interested in learning more about the injectors and the 186 thermostat. I would really appreciate hearing from you. Please let me know what all of this would cost as well.
Thanks alot,
George

Hi, George. Welcome to the site and congrats on the Quad cheers

The Wester's custom tune is probably the single greatest mod you can do to your truck. With remapped fuel and spark curves, reduced torque management, and about a hundred other tables modified specifically to your needs, no other mod (or combination of mods) can equal what this one mod can do for you. It can be calibrated for towing, economy, racing- whatever you need it to do, we can do it Big Grin

The reason for the cooler t-stat is to keep the heads cooler. Cooler heads means less chance for detonation, which means more advance, which means more power and better economy.

The tunes come in different flavors (Eeker), and depending on your needs, I can make a recommendation as to what would best serve your needs.

I'll shoot you a PM this evening, and we can discuss it all in detail. In the meantime, check out the different posts in the vendors section, particularly the Wester's posts, custom ecm, injectors, and in the tech section to familiarize yourself. It's all very easy stuff Wink

So, welcome to the Club, enjoy your truck and take good care of it Big Grin

Happy Quaddin' !!!
Eric B. aka MrQuadrasteer

Salemquad, I just did the Wester's custom tune 2 weeks ago and it did just what Eric's saying here, - love it! Also, did the Wester's flow-matched injectors this lasst weekend. The engine smoothness and responsiveness was well worth the time and money, especially at that great price! thumbs up 2

About the thermostat, I'm all for more power and better economy, but what will be the effect in the winter when us in Oregon and Michigan need all the heat we can get?

Sean, and George, for you Northern-types, I wouldn't recommend anything lower than a 180~186*. It will still provide you with ample heat, and in cold-COLD weather, consider- the sucker still won't open until it gets to temp, right ??

However, it's such an easy job, there's no reason you couldn't swap for the seasons Razzer Big Grin !!!

Do you have a write-up on how to do this?

The only reason I hesitate is the bad combination of short trips and an engine that doesn't heat up all the way leading to condensation inside the engine, - foamy oil and uneven lubrication not good. That's why some guys put engine block heaters in thier rides, in addition to the easier starting.

I might just wait 'til winter's over and change it out in the other Michigan season, - 4rth of July! crazy eyes

Mr. Quadrasteer
I would like to place an order for the 89-91 Wester's tune. Can I place the order by phone or what is the best. I want to try to improve the gas mileage but still want to have the power when I want to pass or just show off a little. Is this possible to have a little of both of should I choose only for max fuel economy. I have changed the tires to LT 265/75R16 but since I purchased this one owner QS from a personal dealer I know I am not sure what size came on the truck from the factory. Please let me know what is the best way to place the order! I have really enjoyed the information on this site about QSteer. It is very good and educational.

Thanks

GA4WSteer,

I got one and am happy with it, but be careful. I was promised a 10% rebate 4-6 weeks after purchase and never got it. It has been over 6 months now.

Just a freindly heads up so you know what you will actually be paying.

Just got my rebate in the mail. Disregard the above.
